Mountain Cathedrals June Hike - Corrales Bosque and Acequia

Details
The Bosque and Rio Grande bottomland is a beautiful part of our state. The importance of water in New Mexico is hard to overstate. Romans 14:12 sets a high standard for how we must be stewards of God's gifts: "So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God." We will hike the northern half of a loop in Corrales that includes the acequia (a peaceful canal) and the Bosque on the west side of the Rio. This six mile walk is level, partially shaded, and not rocky.
Logistics: We'll meet at 8:00 a.m. to carpool to San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales (we are grateful for permission to park in the SE corner of their parking lot), then walk from there, first north along the acequia, then east to the Bosque, south through the Bosque, then west on Dixon Road to return to the church. Plan on easy walking, but a warm last part. We should be back at St. John's before 1:00 p.m.
Please join us for this hike of meditation, wilderness, and time apart from our normal schedules. Contact Mike Furnish at (505) 440-7292 or [mdfurnish@comcast.net](mailto:mdfurnish@comcast.net) with questions.
The next hikes are tentatively scheduled as:
July 19th (TBD in the Sandia Mountains; back by ~3)
August 9 (moonlight hike - Tecolote Peak, which is an easy ~2 mile hike )
September 13 (Palizo Canyon Goblin Colony in the Jemez?)
