Appalachian Trail rehab at Rocky Ridge near Gardners, PA

This is the first of multiple work trips to rehabilitate the trail up Rocky Ridge. We will focus on placing cribbing on the downhill slope to prevent further erosion and making a detailed assessment of future work for planning.
The section is about starts about 1/4 mile from Mountain road. We will need to park at Sheet Iron Roof Road trail head and shuttle to the Mountain Road start because of very limited parking at that location.
Bring lunch, water, bug spray, gloves plus clothing and footwear suitable for outdoor work. We provide tools - mostly pick-mattocks and digging bars.
