Rocky Gorge - ON MONDAY
Details
Rocky Gorge Reservoir is the part of the Patuxent River between Route 29 and Interstate 95. We'll be hiking just across the river from Howard County. The Supplee Lane Recreation Area where we start is accessed from Route 198, which intersects both Route 29 and Interstate 95.
Our target hiking day, Thursday, is expected to be quite hot, whereas Monday is not as bad.
We'll be hiking less than 7 miles with under 300 ft of elevation change at a pace like 2 mph. The route is mostly out and back, partly on trails, partly off trail and partly along the water's edge. None of the trails are in All Trails or GAIA.
