Training Hike - Mt. Dandenong Circuit - 18km - G3/G4 - Moderate

This will be a wet weather training hike, made a little harder by going up the infamous Glasgow (Scar) track, a very rough and steep ascent to the start of the more moderate circuit. We'll stop off at the skyline restaurant for coffee and snacks to energise us for the following 14 or so km LOL. (I like their vanilla slices).
We're expecting rain/showers so this will be a good workout for your wet weather gear. Bring a head torch just in case as I've not done this circuit before and am unsure about times. Bring snacks and 2l of water.
As a training event I'll be carrying a 10/12 kg pack so don't expect speedy times. If you like joining fast hikes and running off by yourself, this proabably isn't an event for yourself. This is a group event so the expecttion will be that you'll hike in a group.
We'll start at the Glasgow track and finish by going down the Glasgow track, unless it's really wet, then we'll go down an alternative safer route. Good idea to brng hiking pole/s and or robust footwear for the slog up and preventing rolling your ankles (Ive done it on this track, ouch!)
As a day event, there is an expectation that if you can't make it you'll take yourself off the going list at least 24 hours prior i.e Friday morning.
