Mount Baldy - Tier 2

Details
## Details - Tier 2 hike
Our goal is to summit Mount San Antonio (Baldy) ascending via Ski Hut and descending the Backbone. Because of the recent opening of the trail I predict that it will be getting pretty crowded, especially with favorable weather. I would like to meet by 5:30 and hit the trail by 5:45 (prompt). We can meet at the bulletin board at the Manker Flat trailhead. Anticipate hiking roughly 10 miles with 4,000' elevation gain. The Ski Hut trail is shorter but steeper. Boots or hiking shoes with good tread and trekking poles are recommended.
This hike is rated at a Tier 2. In respect to the whole group, we created the following classifications for our hikes so that we can keep the group mainly together and no one finds themselves over their head.
Tier 2 - These hikes/climbs can range from 5 to 12 miles (San J summit from tram for instance), and usually take 8-9 hours to complete with some elevation gain. We request that when you sign up for these events and are new to the group or have not attended a Tier 2 prior, please send the organizer a quick message with your recent experience of hikes at this level.
This hike does not require a permit. Please let me know if you would like to bring guest(s).
As always, bring the top ten essentials as defined from the American Hiking Society.

You will need a parking pass (Adventure Pass or America the
beautiful national pass) in order to park at Manker Flats. Ensure you are bringing sun protection and plenty of water/electrolytes. There will be one place we can filter water near the Ski Hut, and the option to fill up at the Notch as well.
Feel free to post any questions you may have and look forward to seeing you on the trail.
