Butler Peak - Tier 2

## Details - Butler Peak

On the easier side of Tier 2 hikes. The plan is to meet at the trailhead, which is located at the beginning of the Forest road 2N13 in Fawnskin (PLEASE- Direct message me for a link to the exact trailhead location). The hike is roughly 10 miles with 1600' elevation gain. At Butler Peak is a fire lookout, which is occasionally occupied with a volunteer :) The plan will be to stroll at an easy-going pace, eat a snack at the summit, and enjoy the scenery along the way. Lunch can be had in town for those who would like to make a day of it!

This hike is rated at a Tier 2. In respect to the whole group, we created the following classifications for our hikes so that we can keep the group mainly together and no one finds themselves over their head.

Tier 2 - These hikes/climbs can range from 5 to 12 miles (San J summit from tram for instance), and usually take 8-9 hours to complete with some elevation gain. We request that when you sign up for these events and are new to the group or have not attended a Tier 2 prior, please send the organizer a quick message with your recent experience of hikes at this level.

This hike does not require a permit, but the parking area at the trailhead is small. I would suggest coming a little early in case we need to get creative with parking arrangements (finding a nearby OHV trail to park at and/or shuttle to).

This trail is very exposed, so plan to bring some sun protection!
