Event Details
The San Juan (SJ) Quattuordecim-14 (SJQ)-In 6-8 movements
This initial event will set the pace for the rest of the events to come.
Not as aggressive as the 14er Summit Record setters . . . more aggressive than your beginner 14er day-hikers. We'll tent camp w/ a car for gear/food storage, traveling from trailhead to trailhead by vehicle.
We will complete all 14 SJ range 14ers in 6-8 days.
Full Peak-to-Peak hiking (no cars) may happen at a later date when the mind is willing, and the body is strong.

Safety/Security:
Altitude is a real issue for your body. Make sure that you understand your body well, b/c altitude will silently test every aspect of your overall health and fitness. Bottom line: If you drink enough water (1/2 your body weight in ounces daily) and your body has extra blood (you've lived a mile above sea lvl for more than a few months), these two factors significantly reduce the impact of altitude on your system.
Jun-Sep Thunderstorms become the primary danger above tree line in Colorado. We'll always watch the clouds as they grow fast and get off ridges by around noon unless it's a perfect bluebird day.
