What we’re about

This is a group geared toward beginner to intermediate runners. We currently have 5 weekly runs - Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday mornings, Monday and Wednesday evenings. MVARC is friendly and inclusive, we welcome runners of all ages and abilities.

Saturday mornings we start promptly at 8:30am at Michaels Restaurant, 2960 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View. We start off with introducing ourselves, and then do a few warm up exercises together. We walk across Shoreline Blvd. to run on the Bay Trail heading towards Shoreline Lake. It is an out and back course, with most people running 5K, although you are welcome to go farther or do a shorter distance if you wish (and you can walk too!). We have runners of all levels. After the run we meet back at Michaels. (Michaels offers a few breakfast items that you order at the counter.)
Sunday runs may vary the location so do check the specific date. But we usually start at the Shoreline boathouse and follow the Bay trail loop (also known as "bloop"). You can extent further north and run around the Palo Alto airport with an optional out-and-back to Cooley Landing. Here are three different options:

You can find restrooms at the start/finish and at Byxbee Park. There are also multiple water fountains along the different routes, including at Byxbee Park, at the duck pond, and at Cooley Landing. Post-run we will meet at "Shoreline Lake American Bistro" (3160 N Shoreline Blvd, Mountain View, CA 94043) which serves coffee, snacks and pastries.

Once a month, usually on the 4th Sunday, there is an easy 3 mile beginner run and book club, generally starting at 9AM in Pioneer Park (behind the Mountain View Library). Book Club starts at 10. You can do the run if you didn't read the book or come to book club if you don't run.

The Monday evening run meets @ 5:30pm on the Sunnyvale Bay Trail (previously the group ran at Rancho). We run every Monday at 5:30 pm.
We meet at the entrance to the Bay Trail on Caribbean Dr, specifically here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/FvSpGyV65SVNsN2U9. Street parking is available on Caribbean Dr.
People typically run at their own pace but group up with others about the same speed. We'll aim to run about 45 - 60 minutes. The route is an out-and-back, so you can choose when you want to turn around. Remember to bring a headlamp. After the run, we usually go to dinner somewhere nearby, for anyone interested.

The Tuesday morning run meets @ 7am @ Rancho San Antonio in Los Altos Hills. We have options of 3-9 miles along the trails.

The Wednesday evening track workout meets @ 6pm at the Crittenden Middle School Track.

Even though there are a lot of people in this run club, we average about 30 participants on most runs. It's a lot of fun and a great way to make new friends! Come check it out!
