Book Club and 5km Run

MVARC once again will host our monthly easy run, perfect for beginners and slower runners, followed by book discussion. The book for each month is chosen by attendees of previous Book Club runs two months in advance. We are always open to suggestions. We alternate fiction & non-fiction selections of general interest.

The book for December is The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead. Amazon says "In this Pulitzer Prize-winning, New York Times bestselling follow-up to The Underground Railroad, Colson Whitehead brilliantly dramatizes another strand of American history through the story of two boys unjustly sentenced to a hellish reform school in Jim Crow-era Florida." This book won the Pulitzer Prize, and Newsweek named it one of the 10 best books of the decade.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 situation, the meetup will be a run on your own in the morning, with the book club Zoom starting at 10AM. In person meet ups with a group run will resume once allowed by the county. Zoom link
