Pedernales Falls State Park TRAIL BUILDING Day
HELP GET THE TRAIL READY FOR CRANKSGIVING! Flat Creek Crossing & Pedernales Falls State Park trails will both be part of the 2014 Cranksgiving!
Also thinking of making this or the build day on November 22 into a full weekend build/ride/campout. Let me know if you are interested and which weekend works best for you.
Austin Ridge Riders is building new purpose built mountain bike trail at Pedernales Falls State Park!
NO TRAIL BUILDING EXPERIENCE NEEDED! Austin Ridge Riders will provide tools & guidance for volunteers, as well as Lunch and prizes to volunteers after the build. Volunteers get into the park for free on trail building days.
If it's been a long time since you have built trail, or if you have never built trail, please give it a try. It's very rewarding to see a new trail take shape that many riders will enjoy for years to come.
If it's your first time building trail, you may be surprised how fun and rewarding it is to be part of building a trail that will be enjoyed by future riders for generations.
We already have miles of trail ready to ride and many additional miles of corridor rough cut that will be able to open up soon with enough people pitching in.
MEET PROMPTLY at the time shown at the Park Headquarters. Don't be late as it will be difficult to impossible to find us once we head to the trail. After meeting up, we will drive to a staging area. At the staging area we will go over the build plan, methods, tools and safety procedures before hiking to the proposed trail building area.
Wear sturdy shoes and bring gloves if you have them. We have extra gloves for those who need them. Bring your hydration pack or water container to carry with you.
Bring your bike if you want to try out the new trail after lunch!
