Hosted by the Bowie High School & South Austin Middle School Composite - Bulldogs MTB Team
This is a fund raising event to help the Bowie HS and South Austin Middle School Composite MTB Teams race in the 2017 Texas Interscholastic MTB Championships.
Not a race and not a group ride, but a big dirt adventure where you’ll check in at as many points as you can on the Southey Trails over four hours. Upon returning to the post-ride festivities at ATX Bikes (including Beer, BBQ, Music), you’ll be rewarded with raffle tickets based on points reached; earning you chances at fabulous prizes from ATX Bikes, Shimano, Pearl Izumi, GU, Swagman and more!
And for the competative types. We will also be crowning the inaugural Bulldog Scavenger champion! 3 podium spots are up for grab. The rider with the most points wins. Points are awarded based on the # of check points you make it to.
Suggested donation for the ride is $10.00. Also, $10 additional bucks gets you a plate of BBQ and access to some beer and other refreshments.
You can be a super star and help a student athlete out even more by donating more. FYI - A $40.00 donation will enter one athlete in one race. A $200.00 donation will pay for a student athlete's entire State Championship series (5 races).
We will be accepting cash and electronic payments for donations.
After the Scavenger Hunt festivities are finished you are welcome to stay and attend the State Championship Kick-Off Party. This is a celebration of the student athlete's hard work and dedication to bring home a ton of trophies this year. We will have more chances to win prizes, more food and more fun.

Registration starts at 12.
• Don’t know the Southie trails? No problem, Bulldog Student Athletes will be leading guided tours of main trails, so come explore. (donations for Bulldog guides appriciated)
• When will the checkpoints be shared? Not until the day of the event. You get to plan your route in real time.
• Will it be possible to hit all the checkpoints in four hours? Maybe, maybe not.
• Will the course be marked? Dude, there is no course, get it? There will be checkpoints/Icons identified on the Southey Trails and you’ll need to check in at as many as you can in the time allotted.
• How will I check in? You’ll take a selfie of yourself at each checkpoint and proudly display these to a Scavenger Ride coordinator upon returning to ATX. You’ll receive a raffle ticket for each picture proving you reached a checkpoint.
• What happens if I get back to the party late? Don’t do it! You can return as early as you want, but for each five minutes past 5:00 PM that you return, you’ll lose one check-in earned on your ride. In other words, arrive 15 minutes late, and you’ll squander three points. Plan your ride carefully and don’t get greedy.
• Will there be ride leaders? No. But you can follow people who might know their way around better than you. Team up, form alliances, go stealthy and solo – it’s your call.
• Will there be any support out on the trail? No. Bring what you need for fuel, hydration, repairs and first aid.
• What else do I need? A cell phone or digital camera to record your check-ins. Helmets and hydration required.
