A gentle, welcoming walk for anyone grieving the loss of someone close. No pressure, just a community who are here for. you.

Whether it's been a week, a year or five years since you lost someone close to you, you're welcome at Movara.

Grief can feel lonely and sometimes it helps simply to get outside and spend time with people who understand. This is a gentle, relaxed walk for anyone who has experienced bereavement, whatever stage of their journey they're at.

There’s no pressure to talk about your loss or share your story. You can talk about your loved one, chat about everyday life, listen to others or simply walk alongside the group.

What to expect:

  • A gentle, leisurely walk in a welcoming, supportive environment.
  • The opportunity to meet others who have experienced loss.
  • No expectation to talk, share or explain how you're feeling.
  • A chance to get some fresh air, take things at your own pace and feel a little less alone.
  • The option to continue chatting over a coffee afterwards.

If you're coming on your own, that's absolutely fine. Many of us know how difficult it can be to meet new people, especially when you're going through something like this. Come as you are and take things at your own pace. There's no right or wrong way to grieve, and no expectation to talk about anything you're not comfortable with.

Movara Bereavement Walk is simply about bringing people together for some fresh air, a gentle walk and a bit of company.

It's not counselling or therapy, just a chance to connect with others who may understand some of what you're going through.

We'll meet outside Smith & Western at 9:50am before heading out for a gentle walk around Tilgate Park. We’d love for you to join us.

You don't have to walk alone.
