I'm planning to go to Creative Dance Collective (CDC) more regularly with the goal of becoming more intermediate at West Coast Swing (WCS) dancing

They have Hard lesson (7-8pm)
Harder lesson (8-9pm)
and wcs dance social (9pm~11pm)

It's $15 for entire night (Hard and Harder lesson, and social),
or $10 for Harder lesson and social,
or $8 for social alone

I personally plan to go to the Harder lesson and social (8pm+) for $10. I have heard the hard lesson is pretty basic most of the time, but if you're new to dancing, start there (7pm), and I'll catch up with you at 8pm+. You don't need a partner, ppl will rotate and practice with whomever shows.

If you use a card they'll add an extra $0.70 charge or so as a heads up

I would classify west coast swing as primarily having a more complicated basic step, and a few moves to learn, and the rest of it is largely styling and the feel of the dance. Improv is built into the dance. Social dancing in general is a bit tricky to "get", but once you do and it becomes more like muscle memory, it's a ton of fun. Wcs is tricky because of the improv part, but if you get it, it makes it a lot easier to dance it more often, imo, bc the improv aspect keeps it fresh. Took my brain time to wrap around that though, for sure.

I'm open to teaching the basics outside of the event for those who have interest. Just lmk sometime in person if so
