The beginner class is specifically designed for beginner students to get good at the basics of Acro-Yoga in the Montreal Style.

In tandem with an intermediate class for folks who want to level up their skills.

For both classes a combo of teachers named possibly… Kato, Joey, Jodie, Jill, Isabelle, Ysaiia and Dominique.

Learn how to base, fly and spot safely and effectively. There will be a full body warm-up, Acro techniques/skills and sometimes intro game taught with safety and spotting in mind.

No partner necessary!

The beginner and intermediate class will start at the same time and warm up together, maybe play a game sometimes and then split off after showing you what skills we will teach in each class. You can decide for yourself whether you want to stick with the basics or try a more challenging class.

NO NEED TO BRING A YOGA MAT! Might be a good idea to bring a mat or bolster for low back/sacrum support. We will bring a couple of them to share and the grey mats are comfy.

Reserve your spot and sign the waiver beforehand or pay onsite with www.feather.rsvp/o/acromtl

A bit about our TEACHERS:

A bit about the beginner teachers:
Jodie first found her love of flying through gymnastics and cheerleading. She then discovered Acroyoga as the perfect combination of movement, play and teamwork. As a former gymnastics coach and teacher for Acroyoga Global, her classes will leave you with smiling faces and pointy toes. Her teaching style is focused on technique and fluidity.

@Kato Cawker is an experienced facilitator and yoga teacher she loves bringing groups together to learn and play with intentionality. She is an AcroYoga Montreal Certified teacher. She believes in emphasis on informed consent, respecting personal boundaries and body neutrality. She likes to bring an element of play and fun into her classes so people feel free to be themselves and get creative and fun.

Together these classes that have been running for 3yrs all winter at Whitewall studio, and Parc Jarry in the summer! We aim to make classes dynamic, fun and skill focused with some conditioning and pre-Hab warm up exercises!

Our intermediate teachers:

Jill and Joey:

Joey Stafford-Abbott is a level 2 AcroYoga Montreal instructor and a professor at Vanier College. As a professor, he introduced the practice to the college world by creating the first credited course of its kind. That’s right, AcroYoga for college credit. He lives in Montreal and likes dancing, mangos, and jiu-jitsu.
