This group meets to learn and discuss what a sustainable population for Australia looks like. How can it be achieved?
Each month, we meet on the fourth Friday at 7pm (online or in person at the Brisbane Square Library) and consider one aspect of Sustainable Population Australia's position and policies.
Sustainable Population Australia is a home-grown organization that directly contributes to the goal of local and global sustainability. In many ways, it is an exemplar of how to think outside the box on the many thorny issues the looming Polycrisis presents. You can respond to "What's a Sustainable Population, Australia?" HERE.
By thinking globally, but acting locally, we can more effectively bring about change in areas we have some direct control over, rather than wistfully wishing for change.

This month, I will introduce SPA's 3rd & 4th Objectives as stated in its position and policies (20 minutes):
3. Promote policies that will lead to the stabilisation, and then to the reduction, of Australia's population by encouraging low fertility and low migration.
4. Promote urban and rural life-styles and practices that are in harmony with the realities of the Australian environment, its resource base and its biodiversity.Introductions and a Q&A will follow. Social time from 8:30pm.

5. Support measures, campaigns and institutional reforms designed to more strongly protect Australia’s natural environment.
6. Advocate low immigration rates while rejecting any selection of immigrants based on race, ethnicity or religion.Introductions and a Q&A will follow. Social time from 8:30pm.
