Animation Networking Meetup - Drink and Draw

Join us at the Hawthorn Hotel on Sunday 5th October, 6–8pm for a relaxed Drink & Draw.

This session’s theme is “Robots.”

Sketch if you like—or simply come to chat, swap ideas, and meet other like-minded creatives. Bring friends who are interested in animation; it’s a great way to introduce new faces to our growing community.

This meetup fosters connections among like-minded people, encourages friendships, and opens doors for collaboration. Whether you’re a student, emerging artist, or seasoned pro, you’re welcome—and drawing is purely optional.

Bring (optional):

• Sketchbook/iPad -Pens/pencils/markers (a few spares will float around, but best to bring your own)
• Business cards or a QR to your reel/portfolio

Who it’s for?

• 2D/3D animators, storyboard artists, character designers, motion designers, riggers, editors, producers—anyone who loves animation
• Friendly newcomers who just want to meet creative people (drawing not required)

While the event runs 6–8pm, the conversations and connections often continue afterward—come for a page or two of sketches, stay for the company. We’re also trialling a fortnightly cadence, so your feedback helps shape future sessions. Note: Our community emphasises collaboration, friendship, and goodwill rather than promotional activity.
