FREE Advance Screening - Zach Cregger presents RESIDENT EVIL in IMAX

Columbia Pictures will be holding an advance screening for Zach Cregger’s (Weapons) re-imaging of Playstation’s massively popular video game RESIDENT EVIL (2026) in IMAX starring Austin Abrams (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark), Paul Walter Hauser (Cobra Kai), Zach Cherry (Duncanville), Kali Reis (True Detective), Johnno Wilson (Far Cry 5), and Devon Stewart (Massive Monster Mayhem).

TRIVIA:

• A poster revealed in May 2026 shows an overhead view of a car whose lights partially form an octagon, which is the shape of the Umbrella Corporation's logo. The rear lights and headlights also emit red and white light respectively, the Umbrella logo's signature colors.
• Zach Cregger said on fan reactions to the movie where he admitted that he took liberties with his adaptation and explained why he chose not to make one to one adaptations of existing games in the series: "the games are so well executed, and to me, Leon and Claire and these characters, they exist so perfectly in the games that anyone I cast and any difference that I do with them would be, probably, to the detriment of what I was trying to do."
• The medical box holding what Bryan is assigned to deliver resembles the First Aid Box found in the first game's remake.
• The obese zombie that Bryan sees in the sewers is similar to the Whopper zombie from Resident Evil 6 (2012). Additionally, a similarly girthy zombie boss, Pluto, was fought in Resident Evil: Dead Aim (2003).
