Film Discussion Lunch: George Harrison's HandMade Films Studio

Details
In the late 70’s, as the Monty Python team were attempting to produce their biblical epic, Life of Brian, they were having trouble getting investors for reasons obvious to anyone who has seen the film. They turned to their good friend, former Beatle George Harrison, who raised the money for the simple reason that he wanted to see the film. So was birthed Harrison and his partner, Denis O'Brien’s, indie British production company, HandMade Films. Throughout the 80’s, some of England’s most memorable films came from the studio. For details on its history and end (facilitated by an unfortunate collaboration with Madonna), check out the comprehensive documentary on HandMade Films, An Accidental Studio.
