Please join me for dinner and a cult classic at The Moon Cafe, presented by Black Maria Film Collective's Tuesdays on Tape.

We'll meet outside The Moon Cafe at 6:45pm. Then we'll get a table when doors open at 7:00pm. The film starts at 7:30pm and table service is available all night.

Tickets are $8 + BF and available online here. Due to the nature of the event I recommend booking early. And please ensure your RSVP is kept up to date.

Dim-witted Walter Paisley (Dick Miller), a busboy at a beatnik café who doesn't fit in with the cool scene around him, attempts to woo his beautiful co-worker, Carla (Barboura Morris), by making a bust of her. When his clumsiness results in the death of his landlady's cat, he panics and hides its body under a layer of plaster. But when Carla and her friends enthuse over the resulting artwork, Walter decides to create some bigger and more elaborate pieces using the same artistic process...

One of many Roger Corman films to gain a cult following thanks to the technological marvel of VHS, we present this absurdly hysterical satire on beatnik culture on a videotape that has NEVER been played before! That's right - you're getting the highest possible fidelity... that videotape can offer.

Black Maria Film Collective is an organisation that aims to foster and cultivate a collective interest in film as an art form. In Western Australia alone, there are a myriad of masterminds in the realm of film, however, they might often feel alone and helpless in Australia’s current film industry. Black Maria’s primary objective is to support and encourage film culture in WA and highlight its importance in today’s current society.

"It's a low budget masterwork that skewers the fad of its era while lambasting the ever-fickle art world." -- Sean Mulvihill, FanboyNation. com

"Roger Corman's madhouse of beatnik poseurs, drug dealing lowlifes, and poetry spewing beards has become a cult movie thanks to the gallows humor and crazy daddy-o dialogue." -- Sean Axmaker, Stream on Demand.
