The Rendezvous is an event put on by Eric Slough. He has been running this event for many years. It is an open event where folks just gather and set up paddles around or between islands. There are no set paddle events.

The best kayak for this event is a sea kayak. You need to be skirted up (neoprene skirt required for roll lessons), and have some training on at least an assisted rescue technique (for paddling open water).
This time of year, Lake Erie water temperature will likely be below 60 F. Plan to use proper cold water protective clothing. A dry suit is the preferred tool (with proper wool/polyester undergarments).
Paddling Lake Erie requires a VHF Marine radio. Know how to use it, and which channel to monitor, and which channels for communication within your group.
