What to bring:

* Must have your own kayak, 10ft or longer.

* Life jacket & paddling gear. PFD's must be worn, while launching, and until you are completely off the water.

* Lights for your kayak & a headlamp
My perspective on kayak lighting....
I suggest 2 lights based on the requirement to be seen 360 degrees around the boat. A white tower light on the stern. suction cup mount with a tether line in case the cup fails. There are also videos that show how to make a tower light for kayaks. REI has a solution for sale for this.
Also, a waterproof headlamp set up to float in case it falls off. If there is any chance of losing your light to the lake, a back up would be good.

* Water and a snack

* Bug spray

* Dry bag with dry clothes

Arrive at launch by 7 pm.
Plan to be on the water by 7:30 pm.

Sunset will be at 8:01 pm.
Moonrise is at 8:38 pm

We'll be off the water by about 10 pm

This is a cold water paddling event. Cold water protective clothing is required. If you are not sure what that means, please ask.

*By attending this event, you have already agreed to and signed the Waiver, and will not hold me (Amy Allen) or any other participants liable for any injury or illness obtained on the way to this meetup, while participating in this meetup, and after leaving this event. You agree to abide by the rules of the event, and are responsible for your own safety.

*I will collect an EMERGENCY CONTACT NAME AND NUMBER from each participant, and hold in my dry bag until the event is over. I will shred these when I get home.
