Location is at Rocky Fork Lake, North Beach, near Hillsboro, Ohio.
Water temperature should be above 60 F. If it is not, students will need to wear cold water protective clothing. we will be in the water for parts of the class.
This is an ACA course taught by a certified Kayak Instructor.
Course fee is $80.
Who is this class for?
Anyone interested in learning how to maximize the fun in your kayak adventures on flat water.
You will learn important safety issues to consider in your kayaking adventures.
You will learn proper stroke techniques for moving your kayak in all horizontal directions.
You will learn how to get back in your kayak with an assisted rescue technique.
This is an ACA class curriculum.
This course will do 3 things for you to contribute to your paddling experience.
- It will give you important safety information. Some of it is obvious. some of it is not. All of it will help you stay safe both on the water, and getting to and from the water.
- It will teach you skills to extend your paddling fun before fatigue sets in, and help you control your boat in every horizontal direction.
- It will teach you how to get back in your boat without going to shore, with the assistance of another paddler.
$80 course fee per student.

I am planning a zoom meeting for 40 minutes on the Friday May 15 7:30 pm, to cover safety issues. This way, when we meet, we can jump straight into paddling instruction.
Will share the Zoom meeting slides hard copy Saturday morning.
Bring water.
Bring lunch.
Kayak needs to have flotation bags or at least one bulk head,
unless it is a sit on top.

We will cover various aspects of kayak safety, transportation, entry, exit, strokes, forward, back, side, turning, braces, and, an assisted rescue technique.
