Moxie [mok-see] - Force of character, determination, or nerve.
Welcome to Moxie Ladies! We are a London based group for ladies without children who want to experience all the amazing (and sometimes downright quirky!) stuff London has to offer. This great city is jam packed with fabulous opportunities to see, eat, drink and just enjoy something different. Whether that's drinking cocktails on the roof after indulging your culture vulture, discovering your inner paper folding ninja skills (origami anyone?) or laughing your socks off at alternative comedy in Soho - London really does have something for everyone.
So why Moxie? Well, this is about putting yourself forward in a world that, generally speaking, prefers to stereotype women into mothers, and questions those who have made a conscious decision to be different... That takes determination and a huge amount of courage. So we'll be taking that spirit of self belief and meeting up with like-minded ladies to build friendships in a non-judgmental environment. We keep the event numbers low for exactly that reason and so that you have the chance to develop friendships rather than simply meeting a new group at each event. The group is run by Jude and Tanya who are old (!) hands when it comes to organising and hosting Meetup events. We look forward to seeing you at Moxie Ladies!
Small but important stuff...
1. We charge £2 per event as a small commitment from you to attend events. Running the group is not free and the Organisers put a lot of their own time and effort into researching, sourcing, booking, arranging and hosting events. If you can no longer attend an event then this is non-refundable. But if we have to cancel for some reason, then you'll get your dosh back! Payment is strictly through PayPal so please make sure that you have an account before RSVP-ing. Any refunds will be minus the PayPal fee.
2. Please have a half decent head shot as your photo - sometimes we meet in crowded venues and it's helpful for the host to know who they're looking for if you're new to the group. Also helpful for you too so you can see who you're looking for! Membership will be politely declined if you upload a lovely landscape or cute cartoon...
3. The group is strictly for ladies only, and those without children so please respect this. Meetup has numerous other groups for other demographics and situations.
4. Got an event you want to host? No problem! Please just let me know you're interesting in hosting!
