This is a free event proudly supported by Mindful Peace Adacemy— a nonprofit dedicated to sharing the wisdom of Buddhist Dharma and Chan (Zen)-inspired living in a modern world.

Today, we are going to settle down, read, and do some mindfulness calligraphy practice together!

  • Introduce Characters: “无我” (No-Self)

- Explore the structure and profound meaning of "No-Self".
- Learn how transcending the ego helps us rediscover our original face and the interconnectedness of life.

  • Mindful Read: Chan Design Maxim

- Discover No-Self in the "Six-Word Maxim": No-self, Formlessness, Infinity, Transcendence, Tranquility, and Detachment.
- Focus on relinquishing self-attachment to live in harmony with nature.

  • Reflect & Share: Altruistic Mind

- A safe space to discuss how releasing the “me-first” ideology fosters deep listening and genuine compassion.

  • Calligraphy: Awakening Art

- Experience brushwork as an externalization of inner stillness.
- Mindfully write “无我”, guided by the principle that “the idea is present before the first stroke”.

Let's write elegant Chinese calligraphy together and study the deep meaning behind it!

There is also a Dhyana Tea Ceremony in the morning between 11.30-12.30, 4 Apr (Sat). Please check it out for detail Dhyana Tea Ceremony. Feel free to join one session or the whole Half-Day Dhyana Retreat. Free lunch will be provided between the two events.
