Practical Introduction to the Ideas of G.I. Gurdjieff
by Willem Nyland’s Group
George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff (1866-1949) gathered knowledge from esoteric schools in Central Asia and developed methods by which the essence of these ancient teachings could be conveyed to our contemporary Western minds. Gurdjieff taught that we spend much of our lives "asleep" without real awareness of our true selves and are generally ignorant of the purpose of our lives.
To counter this automatic behavior, Gurdjieff created techniques that permit us to become more awake in everyday life, that will open a path to self-realization, allow us to learn the real truth about ourselves and pave the way to real consciousness. This spring Willem Nyland’s group will offer a series of introductory in-person meetings on the West Side of Manhattan on May 4th @6:30 PM to explore these ideas in a practical, accessible way. For more information about the location and timing contact Igor at mrnylandsgroup@gmail.com
