Tracking your business processes can help with managing and planning. Anything that can be measured can be tracked.

Manufacturing data, like parts per hour or defective parts per batch; operations data, like percent on-time deliveries; employee performance or absenteeism; even time to process an order from receipt to delivery. All of these processes contain inherent variations, but how do you know what variation is normal, and what relates to special causes? The field of Statistical Process Control (SPC) gives up powerful graphical tools that help us track our processes, and understand what variation is normal and what needs attention.

Jon Peltier will guide you through a few examples, demonstrating why it's important to understand variation, and showing how to track processes intelligently. SPC Process Behavior Charts (Control Charts) can be set up easily in Excel. Jon will show how to set up your own Process Behavior Charts and will demonstrate a new commercial tool for creating and managing process data and control charts.
