Managing databases has traditionally been cumbersome and difficult. We had to answer questions like • How do you manage your database objects when there’s no “canonical” version of your schema anywhere?
• How do you properly source control scripts?
• How do you know what scripts to run during a deployment? Luckily, we have some great tools available to improve the database release cycle! By combining SQL Server Data Tools and Release Management for Visual Studio, we can easily manage both developing and deploying SQL scripts. In this session, you’ll learn:
• How to get started using SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT)
• How to build SSDT projects from Team Build
• How to deploy SSDT projects along with your application changes with Release Management for Visual Studio
