Slow Hike to Little Mashel Falls followed by Lunch
Details
Looking for a bit of adventure with a splash of good company? Let’s head to Little Mashel Falls in Eatonville for a slow hike! This trail features three stunning waterfalls, and we'll plan to hike to all three. The trail to the last waterfall is a little dicey, so anyone can skip any part of the hike if they don't feel comfortable with it.
🌿 When & Where?
We'll start the hike from Smallwood Park in Eatonville at 8:30am, but we'll carpool down from Spanaway.
🐾 The Details:
- Parking Pass: None needed!
- Dog Friendly: Yes! But dogs need to be on leash.
- Restrooms: None in the park or on the trail.
- Cell Coverage: Good
- Trail: Some parts are flat and easy, others have a few rocks, roots, and muddy spots—so wear your best hiking shoes or boots, and bring your trekking poles.
🍎 Hungry after the hike?
We'll plan to have lunch somewhere in Eatonville, location TBD.
We will carpool from Bethel Station in Spanaway, meeting in the parking lot east of the Burger King, west of the big Fred Meyer store. This location is on Mountain Highway (aka Pacific Ave.; aka WA Hwy 7) on the south side of Spanaway, between 22nd Avenue East and 224th Street East, on the east side of the highway. The address for the Fred Meyer store is: 22303 Mountain Hwy E, Spanaway, WA 98387. Please be at Bethel Station for car-pooling prior to 8:00 AM so we can leave right at 8:00. Other carpooling or meeting arrangements are possible; please coordinate with me before hand.
📍 Directions to Smallwood Park: From Washington St. in downtown Eatonville, turn left on Larson St., then a quick left on Mashel Ave. On the edge of town, turn left onto 436th St. (look for the sign for Smallwood Park). Once you’re in the park, grab a spot and we’ll hit the trail!
