### The Plan

We’re heading out to Tiger Mountain! For this trip, we are setting our sights on Side Hustle, a fantastic intermediate (blue) trail known for its fun flow, berms, and gentle features. It's the perfect step up if you've been riding places like Duthie or Big Finn and want a taste of classic Tiger Mountain singletrack.
Since this is my very first time riding this specific trail, we will be discovering it together. Parents, non-parents, and intermediate-seeking riders are all welcome to join the crew!

### The Terrain & Type of Ride

Tiger Mountain requires a bit of work to earn your downhill rewards. We’ll take a steady, casual climb up the logging roads and trails to reach the top of Side Hustle. There is absolutely no rush on the climb—we go at a conversational pace and take breaks whenever needed.
Side Hustle itself is an intermediate flow trail with smooth dirt, great corners, and rollable features. It’s built to help you build confidence and progress your riding.

### ⚠️ Critical Requirements & Passes

  • Discover Pass Required: Because Tiger Mountain is state-managed land, you must have a valid Washington Discover Pass displayed in your vehicle. You can buy an annual pass or a daily pass online ahead of time, or at automated pay stations if available at the trailhead. Don't risk a ticket!
  • Climbing Fitness: While the trail down is absolute fun, you do need to be prepared for a sustained pedal up the mountain. Make sure your legs and lungs are ready for a bit of a climb.

### What to Bring

  • The Essentials: A well-maintained mountain bike (brakes and gears checked!), a properly fitted helmet, and plenty of water.
  • Trail Snacks: Climbing burns calories. Bring some energy bars, chews, or a snack to enjoy when we reach the trail entrance.
  • Fix-it Kit: A spare tube, pump/CO2, or a tire plug kit. If someone gets a flat, we pause as a team and handle it together.

### The Standard Disclaimer

Mountain biking has inherent risks, and Tiger Mountain has real terrain. You are entirely responsible for your own safety. I am a peer organizer, not a professional guide or skills coach. I am not liable for any crashes, injuries, or broken bike parts that happen during this ride.
Always ride within your comfort zone. If a section looks a bit too spicy for your current skill level, there is zero shame in walking it. Let's look out for each other, have an awesome session, and make it home safely!
