This is the second group of the Fighting Loneliness Movement in Montreal, built from the same community: meetup.com/mtlown behind our original activity-based and game night events.
Here, we focus on staying active together — fitness, outdoor sports, exercise, gym sessions, martial arts, cycling, running, kayaking, and more.
We're here to fight loneliness and the isolation caused by social media, and the excessive, compulsive, and mindless smartphone use—together. In a world full of screens, we prioritize real face time over screen time by building a fun, welcoming space.
📲 Join our WhatsApp community: a space where we brainstorm event ideas together, vote in polls created by the admins, share memes, and discover new ways to move and stay active around Montreal.
📅 We meet once a week, usually on Friday or Saturday— activities like group workouts, outdoor fitness training, cycling, hiking, kayaking, martial arts, and more.

What happens
Come hang out, grab a chair, clip on a mic, and chat in the fresh air. We’ll keep it super chill—15‑minute, vlog‑style talks about anything real but light and record it.Why we’re doing this
Screens keep us “connected,” yet many of us still feel alone. We’re launching the Fighting Loneliness outdoor network podcast to put our motto into action: more face‑to‑face time, less screen time. Loneliness is a huge driver of depression, and scrolling on phones only makes it worse. So come hang out outside and talk—real voices, real eye contact, real laughs.Goal
- Chats that turn strangers into acquaintances and push the conversation off the feed and into the park
- Each episode becomes short clips on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram to spread the word, but the real win is the hangout itself:
- meeting people in their 20s who want the same thing—connection without constant scrolling
Who can join?
- Ages 22 to 29 only—everyone’s in the same stage of life
- Fresh out of college, still in university, or figuring things out in your twenties?
- If you’re feeling lonely, come chat with us about light topics—positive vibe, not so serious
- Let’s laugh and go through the pain of Dating, Marriage, Breakups, H‑Culture, ADHD, Friendships, Failure, everyday mistakes, and anything else on your mind
Quick set-ups
- Quick intro, then we pair (or trio) up and record
- Two folding chairs, wireless mics, phone camera—simple setup
- When you’re off mic, relax and meet the others
Why come
- Break the ice, get out of your comfort zone and enjoy one 15-minute spotlight
- After recording, guests can move into our other Meetup groups:
