Welcome to a curated film club! Mubi is a streaming platform, but Mubi Go (included with Mubi) lets New Yorkers see some on the big screen!
Who should join: There are local and international films of varying genres that are offered. I've been exposed to so many films I would not have otherwise known to exist. You don't need to know much about film or be a serious movie buff. Everyone is welcome to just enjoy. Buffs welcome too :)
How to get Mubi/Mubi Go: With a Mubi membership (https://mubi.com), a MubiGO (https://mubi.com/go/us) membership is included! Each week, you are allowed to redeem 1 ticket to an independent film at a local arthouse theatre.
How it works: The Mubi Go app automatically shows day/time/theatre for the selected movie of the week!
Don't want to join Mubi?: Join us for the film anyway and purchase a ticket! I just think the membership is a good deal if you also want to stream other films at home.
What we do: The film is chosen for us already by the app and changes weekly. We will pick a day/time/theatre to go see a film together. Afterwards, a nearby location will be chosen for those who wish to chat about the movie, or anything else, but it is not required!
