Darnley Mausoleum

This walk begins in Cobham, as parking is no longer permitted in Lodge Lane, making the route a little longer than usual. The path includes some hilly sections, but the return journey is entirely flat. Cobham Woods and the Darnley Mausoleum, both owned and maintained by the National Trust, are well cared for. Along the way, you will pass through Ranscombe Farm Nature Reserve before reaching the Mausoleum. Although the Mausoleum is closed at this time of year and cannot be viewed from the inside, you can still appreciate its exterior. You might even spot some highland cattle nearby. Built in the 18th century, the Mausoleum remains unused and is recognised as a Grade 1 Listed building.
