What does Santa Barbara, Noleta, Goleta really sound like, anyway?
If you are someone who lives life through multiple languages at any degree on the fluency continuum and you want to play around with writing in a way that reflects that reality this group is for you.
This is a space open to all fluency levels, all ethnicities/nationalities, all education levels, and all writer's mediums (talking is pre-writing; wat if u write like u text? totally cool.)
Each month there is a topic or short excerpt from a model text. We are invited to write for 15 minutes, then we share what we wrote and some positive feedback only.
The goal of our group is to have more writing published in our local publications that centers a bi or multi lingual experience. And if they wont publish us, maybe we can make a Zine.
