About us
Multipotentialite Community – A Home for the Curious and Multi-Passionate
Who We Are
The Multipotentialite Community is a Meetup for people who can’t (and don’t want to) choose just one passion. If you have many interests, love learning, and enjoy blending different fields of knowledge, this is the place for you!
Inspired by thinkers like Barbara Sher, Emilie Wapnick, and Margaret Lobenstine, this group is a space where curiosity is celebrated, diverse interests are encouraged, and new ideas are constantly sparked.

This month’s topic: “(Un)healthy Obsessions – a Particular Challenge for People with Many Interests”
When something fascinates you, do you sometimes dive in so deeply that everything else temporarily disappears?
For multipotentialites, intense curiosity can be a superpower. A new subject, project, skill, or idea can become completely absorbing—fueling rapid learning, creativity, and unexpected expertise. But when does passionate immersion become an unhealthy obsession? And how do you know when it’s time to step back, switch focus, or let go?
We’ll explore how to make the most of intense interests without letting them take over: how to distinguish productive hyperfocus from unhealthy fixation, how to maintain balance while following your curiosity, and whether an “obsession” might sometimes be exactly what a multipotentialite needs to turn curiosity into mastery.
3. Explore Diverse Perspectives
