Just as we are preparing for this meetup, the Sanskrit fraternity has lost a father figure. Shri G V Karandikar (श्री ग वा करंदीकर) breathed his last at the age of 92 on Rishi Panchami day (30th August). He was instrumental in sowing the seeds for the revival of the common man's interest in Sanskrit 25+ years ago, through the formation of SanskritBhashaSanstha संस्कृतभाषासंस्था (http://www.sanskritbhashasanstha.com) In Mumbai. This meetup pays homage to the memory of Shri G V Karandikar.
In the first meeting, let us
• get introduced, define our limitations as a group, and draw up a rough plan for future meets,
• have a look at what Sanskrit resources are available online,
• identify organizers and sub-organizers
• identify other, more suitable venues
