Trek to Kondhane caves near Karjat

Details: We will be going to the famous Buddhist caves near Karjat called as Kondhane Caves. Kondhane Caves are ancient Buddhist caves of 200 B. C. period. These caves surround Rajmachi Fort and are an excellent example of Buddhist architecture.

How to reach- We will car pool (Pick-up points can be decided as per your RSVP), reach Uthivade and trek to the caves.

Places covered:

1. Kondhane Buddhist caves

2. Bath in the waterfalls near the caves or

3. Take dip in the river near Uthivade

4. Trek further up from Kondhane caves**

** Only if conditions are favourable.

Detailed itinerary:

7:30 AM - Start from Vashi

8:30 AM – Halt for breakfast

9:30 AM – Reach Uthivade and start trek to Kondhane Caves

11:00 AM - Reach the caves- Sight seeing; Take a dip in river

1:00 PM - Trek back to Uthivade

2:30 PM - Lunch at Uthivade

03:30 PM – Leave Uthivade for Vashi

05:00 PM – Reach Vashi

Cost: All trips expenses for the group to be shared among the group members. Fuel cost not more than INR 300, food and other expense at actuals.

Items to bring:

1. 2x Water bottles

2. Snacks/Fruits for trekking

3. Change of clothes

4. Id card (must)

5. Any medicines you may require
