The first Thursday of 2026 will be on January 1st. For those of us who didn’t over-celebrate the night before here’s a good way to mark the change of year (also January 1st is a public holiday – so a good day for recovery.)

As the year changes it’s a good time to take stock of what has happened to us in the old year and what may lie ahead for us in the new year ahead.

So, let’s spend an evening looking back at 2025 (was it a good year or bad year for you?; what were the highlights and lowlights etc) and

looking forward to 2026 (do we have goals? ; what plans do we have?; will it be a good year or do we see obstacles and problems ahead)

And as well as looking at our own lives let’s talk about what happened in the world in 2025 and what may be happening globally in 2026.

What about the wars and geopolitics generally? What Climate Change effects can we expect?
