Chinese Home Cooking Class - Munich/München

Kochschule Peter Offenhäuser, Hanauer Str. 56, 80992, München, DE

    ### Chinese Home Cooking Class - Munich

This class is an invitation to slow down and reconnect — with food, with memory, and with yourself.

In this 3–3.5 hour hands-on class, we will cook together, share stories, and experience Chinese food as it is lived at home.
This is currently the only Chinese home cooking class of its kind in Munich — focused not on restaurant dishes, but on everyday food, cultural understanding, and embodied experience.

The class takes place in collaboration with Peter Offenhäuser, who brings over four decades of culinary mastery and founded Munich’s first professional cooking school.

A group size of maximum 12 participants allows for personal guidance, smooth collaboration, and a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is seen, involved, and comfortable asking questions.
    It’s a homecoming.

    #### Meeting Peter Offenhäuser

    #### This event is a collaboration with Peter Offenhäuser at Kochschule Peter Offenhäuser.

Peter Offenhäuser will be present on the day of the class. As a special offer, participants will have the opportunity to exchange with him and benefit from his perspective on food, craft, and culinary culture.
Peter Offenhäuser founded the first cooking school in Munich and brings over 47 years of experience in fine dining. Trained and led in Michelin-starred restaurants, he was named Pastry Chef of the Year in 1990 and later served as personal chef to international figures including Bill Clinton, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, and the Rolling Stones.

    #### Meet Cooking Coach - Ting Wu

Passionate creator & experimenter, daughter of an award-winning chef. Her father was a respected figure in the Chinese culinary world of throughout the 1990s and 2000s.

    The start of a story
Ting grew up in a family where food was at the center of daily life, relationships, and community. Her father’s kitchen was a place of craftsmanship, generosity, and constant experimentation.

    From Peking to Munich
After moving from Beijing to Munich in 2017, Ting began recreating and adapting the Chinese home cooking she grew up with — working with local ingredients, intuition, and memory rather than rigid recipes.

    Two worlds meet
Alongside cooking, Ting is the founder of Shif-Ting Coaching & Consulting, where she works as a project leadership coach, trainer, and consultant with over 15 years of experience across Europe and Asia. She supports leaders and organizations in navigating complexity through clarity, presence, and embodied decision-making.
This combination — lived food culture and professional facilitation — shapes her cooking workshops: structured yet warm, reflective yet practical.

For her, cooking means connection, memory, and sharing — not performance.
