How I am still learning to tame the python while having a charming anaconda

Details

Daniyal Kazempour, Research Assistent at the Database Systems Group at the LMU Department of Computer Science, will give a talk, in which he will share his experiences made with Python in his research work:

"Performing research in the field of data mining made me use Python as a swiss-army knife for developing new methods and evaluating them. Beginning from reading in data from files, over to filtering and transforming them into the wanted shapes up to performing computations on the data and visualizing the results. This talk aims to give a brief overview and insights on the personal experiences made using Python and the Anaconda distribution in the field of data mining with its pitfalls and moments of surprises. In this context we shall see some code snippets reflecting the use of a subset of the tools with libraries like e.g. pandas, numpy, sklearn, matplotlib etc. It further introduces a hand full of discovered patterns and a few smells and heuristics, indenting some of the different concepts and ideas from the clockwork of libraries for data science."
