Overview
Robotics is always more fun when there are real robots on the table.
OpenELAB hosts a regular hands-on robotics workshop together with Seeed Studio, and we would love to invite robotics engineers, developers, researchers, makers, and AI hardware builders to join us for an afternoon of robot arms, demos, pizza, and real technical exchange.
This is not a formal product lecture. It is a relaxed builder-style meetup where you can get close to the new reBot Arm, try things out, ask questions, share your own robotics experience, and meet other people who are building in the same space.
Whether you are working on robotic arms, embodied AI, edge AI, manipulation, automation, or just curious about what open robotics platforms can make possible, this workshop is designed for people who enjoy building, testing, breaking, improving, and learning together.

(To ensure the quality of the workshop, capacity is limited and walk-ins will not be accepted.)

Event Details

  • Date: August 1st, 2026
  • Time: 9:00-17:00
  • Location: Garching Hochbrück (detailed location will be sent directly after the review)
  • Format: Small-group hands-on robotics workshop
  • Capacity: Around 20 selected participants
  • Organizer: OpenELAB
  • Guest Partner: Seeed Studio
  • Focus: Robotic arm development, SenseCraft workflow, embodied AI, open robotics, and developer exchange

🌟For those who attended our June workshop: We will have six robotic arms on site this time, giving every workshop participant the opportunity to get hands-on experience with robotics development, data collection, model training, and more!

What We’ll Explore Together
During the workshop, we will use reBot Arm as a hands-on platform to explore practical robotics development topics, including:

  • How a new robotic arm platform feels in real operation
  • What the SenseCraft development workflow looks like
  • How training results can be demonstrated and evaluated
  • What developers may want from an open robotic arm platform
  • How robotic arms can connect with AI, sensing, and real-world applications
  • What pain points engineers face when building robotics projects

Most importantly, this workshop is about exchange. We want to hear your thoughts, your questions, your use cases, and your honest feedback.

Who Should Join?
This meetup is especially suitable for:

  • Robotics engineers and developers
  • Embedded system developers
  • Edge AI and AI hardware builders
  • Researchers and students working on robotics or embodied AI
  • Makers building robotic systems or automation prototypes
  • Developers interested in LeRobot, robot learning, manipulation, or control
  • Startup teams exploring robotic arm applications

You do not need to be a robotics expert, but some hands-on technical background will help you enjoy the session and join the discussion.
*To keep the workshop interactive, we will invite around 20 selected participants.

Workshop Agenda
09:00 – Arrival, Check-in & Grouping
Check in, join your group, collect your materials, and confirm your workstation is ready.
09:30 – Welcome & Embodied AI Introduction
A friendly intro to embodied AI and what we will build together today.
10:00 – Hardware Overview & Safety Briefing
