The line up:
Martin Hanewald: Can whales fly? – Deploying analytical scripts with docker containers
Abstract:
In most cases the creative analytical process in modern data science involves scripting in Python, R or other languages. When moving from the exploratory phase in a sandbox environment to the ready-to-use deployment of a model one faces similar challenges all the time: providing the runtime environment, user-interface, access policy, REST-API and scheduling functionality. This talk proposes a general framework of deploying analytical scripts inside docker containers. The goal is maximum flexibility regarding platform (Linux, Windows, MacOS), location (cloud or on-premise) and tools (R, Python, Scala, etc.) without the need for major recoding.
Bio:
Martin Hanewald works as a Senior Data Scientist at QUNIS GmbH, a Rosenheim based BI and Analytics consultancy. He has over 10 years of practical machine learning experience in various industries, especially in the energy and finance sectors. He is a certified financial quant and approved energy derivatives trader.
Kiran Kulkarni: Realtime data ingestion using Apache Spark
Abstract:
Mobile is the new frontier for advertising. And the timespan for advertising on a mobile platform is really short. Programmatic advertising requires real-time information on the user behavior. We built a Apache Spark based workflow that allowed us to ingest mobile traffic data in realtime.
Bio:
Kiran Kulkarni is the Vice President of Data Technology at ProSiebenSat.1 Digital Data GmbH where he is responsible for building and maintaining enterprise data lake, creating new analytics products and services and combining online and offline data.
