🎤 Munich in Motion: Four Data Agents Planning for a Growing City by Juergen Albertsen, Exasol
by Jürgen Albertsen, Exasol

As Munich grows, decisions about public transport, cycling, roadworks and infrastructure are becoming increasingly connected. A construction project can affect transport routes, cycling corridors and entire neighbourhoods, while population growth and changing mobility patterns create new planning challenges.
In this talk, we will build a practical agentic data intelligence prototype using publicly available Munich datasets. We will bring public transport schedules, bicycle counts, weather information, roadworks, population data and city geography together in Exasol Personal.
Four specialized data agents will explore the data from different perspectives. A mobility operations agent will identify potential disruption zones. An urban planning agent will compare population density with transport and cycling infrastructure. A sustainability agent will investigate how weather and seasonality affect cycling demand. Finally, a city leadership agent will combine these findings to highlight areas that may require further attention.
Each agent works with the same governed data foundation, translates natural-language questions into inspectable SQL and presents its findings through a dedicated Dash Server view. The session will also show how ambiguous questions, data limitations and access controls need to be handled when moving from a simple chatbot to a trustworthy data agent.
Rather than presenting a fictional real-time control centre, this talk provides a reproducible example of how agentic data intelligence can support mobility planning and evidence-based decision-making. Attendees will see how data can be transformed into a shared analytical model that they can explore and extend themselves.

About Jürgen Albertsen:
Jürgen is a Product Manager at Exasol responsible for their operational platform and SaaS offering. He has 30 years of experience in various technology and product leadership positions, focusing heavily on platform and cloud technologies.

🎤 Clinical Intelligence 2.0 - leading the AI revolution in medicine
by Maciej Szymkowski, T-Labs

VLMs, LLMs, AI Agents – all these terms are a kind of buzzwords nowadays. Every company and institution would like to have them deployed and made available for their employees and clients. It is claimed that they can make our work not only much faster but also more productive. However, there is one sector where usage of these tools can be much harder (but it is not impossible!) – it is medicine. During this presentation, I would like to take a broader look on the way in which AI is changing Medical Doctor’s suite. We will analyze usage of VLMs (Gemma, InternVL, Qwen) in the diagnostics process (e.g., in ophthalmology and radiology), LLMs (GPT-oss, GPT, and Bielik) in analysis of the information collected during interview with the patient, and AI agents (created with PydanticAI) for creation of, so-called, “diagnostic workflow” and its automatization. Moreover, we will also check how is AI used in the process of new medications creation (not only to design chemical compounds but also to simulate the reaction of the patient on this new therapy – a kind of human “digital twin”). It must be claimed that we will concentrate on personalized (with AI) approach to the patient rather than general ideas.

About Maciej Szymkowski:
Maciej Szymkowski is a researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. His main research areas include reasoning models, explainable and trustworthy AI as well as mathematical foundations of ML and AI. He is affiliated with T-Labs (T-Mobile Poland) where he works as a Chief AI Researcher (from July 2026). Maciej holds a Ph.D. in the field of Computer Science which was awarded by his alma mater – Bialystok University of Technology, Faculty of Computer Science (2026). The topic of his dissertation was trimodal biometrics system powered by AI (three traits from a human finger were used, Maciej build both a device and AI models to recognize a user). He was affiliated with Bialystok University of Technology, Faculty of Computer Science (2018-2026) but also with two other universities in Poland – Warsaw University of Technology (2021-2022, Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology) and with AGH in Cracow (2021-2022, Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science). Between 2022 and 2024 he was with Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Insitute of Technology where he was Senior AI Researcher and Head of AI development team. Maciej, summarized (until now) his research work with more than 45 research papers (published in JCR journals, as chapters in the books and in conference proceedings). He also participated in several projects funded by European Commission and by National Centre for Research and Development in Poland. He has also experiences in working outside of academia. He was a software developer (he started with Java as his main language but then moved to Python), data scientist, machine learning engineer, and AI engineer. Recently he was with Future Processing, Hemolens Diagnostics, and SoftServe. He is working with different companies from 2016. In his free time, he loves to extend his knowledge, take a long walk, read a book or watch soccer, basketball, volleyball or hockey. He is a fan of Legia Warsaw, Bayern Munchen, New York Knicks and Pittsburgh Penguins.
