Munich Explorers Club 59th Presentation Evening

Details
Dear fellow Explorers!
After a far too long break, we are finally back!
And we found a new exciting location to host our events: GLOBETROTTER at Isartor kindly makes its great event area available to us. It is much larger, easier to reach, and equipped with a high end projector and sound system. Definitely a big upgrade!
The next event will take place on Feb 29, 8pm.
Please note that this is a Thursday, unlike most previous events.
Keep in mind that the location changed to: Globetrotter, Isartorpl. 8-10, 80331 München.
And please be on time: entrance will close at 8:10pm!
For all the newcomers -- you're not sure what this whole thing is about? Please read the 'What we're about' section on our opening page. This applies particularly to all new presenters.
Presentations on this event (in no particular order):
1. Exploring Iceland’s Arctic: Whales, Birds, and Plastic
On June 24th, I embarked on a 7-day expedition with Ocean Missions through the most remote, untamed, and stunning areas of Iceland. We witnessed the wildest fjords and were bathed in the eternal glow of sunsets. Surrounded by the majestic blows of whales and fearless flights of millions of birds, the landscape transformed into a living canvas. Amidst these breathtaking scenes, we delved into the depths, collecting samples of microplastics in the ocean, confronting the harsh reality beneath the surface, and celebrated the designation of Iceland's first Hope Spot—a beacon for marine conservation.

2. Out of Africa - 5.000 km through Namibia and Botswana, Part 1
After some very challenging times in my job it was time for a sabbatical and a "Getaway" - 4 weeks Out of Africa and 5.000 km adventurous trip through Namibia and Botswana, with highlights such as Kalahari, Fish River Canyon, Namib Desert, Etosha Pan and Okavango Delta.

3. Southern Ethiopia - A Rough Ride through the Rift Valley
Join the wild ride along Southern Ethiopia's Rift Valley, where local transport is an adventure on its own: overfilled buses held together solely by hope and motorbikes carrying everything from chickens to sofas...
-- by Agnieszka & Dennis
Doors open at 7:30 pm and the show starts at 8 pm. Entrance will close at 8:10 pm, so be sure to come on time!
