Dear fellow Explorers!

Since the revival of the MEC was such a great evening, we will hold the next MEC a little earlier than planned:

The next event will take place on Feb 27, 8pm.

As last time GLOBETROTTER at Isartor kindly makes its great event area available to us. It is spacious, easy to reach, and equipped with a high end projector and sound system.

Keep in mind that the new location is: Globetrotter, Isartorpl. 8-10, 80331 München.
And please be on time: entrance will close at 8:10pm!

For all the newcomers -- you're not sure what this whole thing is about? Please read the 'What we're about' section on our opening page. This applies particularly to all new presenters.

Presentations on this event (in no particular order):

1. Kashmir - Not a typical vacation in North India
The trip included security checks that escalated quickly, encounters with things I never imagined being this close to (mostly our fault), and experiences I now know I can live without. Use it as a guide on what not to do while travelling.
Looking back, it was probably not the wisest trip to take, especially given what we knew and the realities of the place as locals. Even after travelling to more than 30 countries, I have never come this close to real danger before.
The red flags were always there. Like we sometimes do, all of us chose to ignore them.
This was not the worst place to travel. In fact, it is one of the most beautiful places.
It was simply the wrong time for us.

2. Of Ice and Men: My Winter "Expedition" to Greenland in the Era of Trump
Why Greenland?
The Uncharted: I simply had never been there!
The Connection: I was in Copenhagen anyway, the primary gateway to the Arctic (and the only place where flights aren't completely astronomical).
Aurora borealis: To witness the Northern Lights in their purest form.
Little did I know that during my journey, this remote Arctic beauty would move back into the geopolitical spotlight. Join me as I explore Greenland's breathtaking nature and share my journey through a tiny but resilient society - one that navigates the tension between preserving tradition, the scars of a colonial past, and the weight of neo-colonial challenges.

Doors open at 7:30 pm and the show starts at 8 pm. Entrance will close at 8:10 pm, so be sure to arrive on time!
GLOBETROTTER is seating the place with camping chairs. If you need more comfort bring a pillow ;)

Looking forward to see you,
Dennis
