Regulating Our Nervous System #6 - Outdoor Games!

Woohoo! The sun is out! Let's play games in the outdoors, childhood games included! The game ideas might not necessarily be original but I am quite sure some of us will be playing them for the very first time. Let's laugh and experience the surge of happy hormones together! I promise you will leave with a big smile on your face!

Playing is one of many effective ways of regulating our nervous system. It improves social interaction, reduces stress, promotes relaxation, enhances mood stability and reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression. Other examples that can help us regulate our nervous system are being socially active, talking to someone you trust, engaging in physical activities, taking walks in nature, dancing to your favourite music, doing volunteer work, and meditating.

Often times, we get lost in our daily adult duties and responsibilities and forget that we are all also kids at heart. The truth is, we love to play, we want to play. The truth is also, playing is no longer our priority. Everything else takes precedence.

You've worked very hard. You put others before you. You haven't slowed down. Let's make it a regular activity and intentionally set some time aside to play!

Our play events are always so hilarious, we would metaphorically skip home with our happy inner child. It is therefore, without a doubt, that we should invite our inner child once again to another playdate.

Some of the games we will play:

  1. Red light, green light
  2. Monkey in the middle
  3. Blind fold catch, and many more...

Event fees: €5. Cash at arrival.

Come in comfortable clothing and shoes because we are going to be in some action! See photos from last year's event!

What to bring:

  • Bottled water/drinks (you are going to need it)
  • snacks/fruits
  • picnic/yoga mat or towel (for when you want a short break)

The event will:

  • begin on time at 3pm. I will be there at 2.45pm.
  • be held in English.

I'll be taking photos of the event to be posted on the event page and Instagram. If you do not wish to be photographed, kindly inform me prior to the start of the event.

Your respectful social etiquette matters:

  • If you've signed up, you will turn up. If your plans change, remove yourself from the going/waiting list 12 hours prior to the start of event time.
  • Dropping out less than 6 hours before event time will earn you a No-Show and the possibility of being banned from future events.
  • If something's come up last minute, write me a message to prevent being flagged as No-Show.
  • Do not show up if you are on the waiting list.
