Volunteer Day München-Mitte: An Invitation to Volunteer

We’re back for a second year!

Are you looking to do volunteer work? Here's a great opportunity to lend your hands to Munich-Mitte second Volunteer Day! Volunteer for an institution, association or initiative for a day.

The website is in German, below is a summary of their projects in English. Volunteers do NOT require German knowledge, except for 2 projects*. Your registration is only valid when you sign up at their website.

The organizers & many non-profit organizations from the district are inviting people to get involved on this day to make a positive contribution to its district. After the work is done, you are invited to a joint closing thank you party with music & food.

There are 16 projects at various locations:

1. 🚲 Bike Repair by Nachbarschaftstreff Arnulfpark (NTA) at Arnulfpark: Fix donated bikes for people in need.
2. 🎨 Colourful Afternoon by Z’sam – Zentrum für freiwilliges Engagement at Kunstlabor 2: Paint, play, and connect with refugees.
3. 💬 *German Speed-Conversation by in Via München e.V. at Goethestr.: Help learners practice speaking.
4. 🧹 Youth Centre Cleanup by Diversity München e.V. at Blumenstr.: Tidy, build, and organize creative spaces.
5. 🦉 Bats & Owls Workshop by Naturschutzjugend München at Klenzestraße: Build & decorate nesting boxes.
6. 🤝 Intro to Refugee Work by Münchner Flüchtlingsrat e.V. at Karlstr.: Learn & reflect on social justice issues.
7. 🧼 Stolpersteine Cleaning by Initiative Stolpersteine für München e.V. at Maxvorstadt: Honour Holocaust victims by polishing their memorial stones.
8. 🚮 Bahnhofsviertel Cleanup by youngcaritas München at Goethestr.: Pick up trash & beautify public spaces.
9. 🎉 Help with Final Party by Z’sam – Freiwilligenteam at Kunstlabor 2: Set up, decorate, and clean up.
10. 🗓 Plan a Street Fest by Münchner Freiwillige - Wir helfen e.V. at Tumblingerstr.: Share ideas & co-create a guide.
11. 🧺 Flea Market Prep by Alten- und Service-Zentrum Lehel & Servicestelle Ehrenamt der Wohlfahrts- und Sozialarbeit des BRK-Kreisverbands München at Lehel: Sort donations, then enjoy a multicultural lunch.
12. 🪧 Flyer Walk + Picnic by Start with a Friend e.V. at Blumenstr.: Distribute materials, then gather at Minna Thiel.
13. 🛝 Playground Cleanup by Josephsstiftung at Glockenbach: Parents + kids welcome!
14. 🧓 *Bingo with Seniors by Seniorenheim Vincentinum at Oettingstr.: Play & connect (basic German required).
15. 🌼 Terrace Redesign by InitiativGruppe e.V. at Maxvorstadt: Craft, clean & refresh a community space.
16. 📱 Digital Treasure Hunt by Z’sam at Theresienstr.: Explore the neighborhood in senior-volunteer pairs using maps, cameras & curiosity! Complete creative digital tasks like scanning QR codes, taking photos, and more. Learn photo basics, highlight WiFi spots & resting places, and help build a small exhibit. No German required.

👧 Min age: 14 (some 16+ or 18+)
💬 Most roles are German-optional
