Blockchain in EdTech and Recruiting

Details

The advent of digitalization and artificial intelligence, the influx of new generations of workers to the labor market and the rapidly changing consumer and competitive environments will disrupt the way we learn and the way we work. A study by the World Economic Forum predicts that by 2022 more than 54% of all employees will require significant re- and upskilling. In addition, freelancing is likely to surge and people will change their jobs more often than any generation before. These developments require new solutions in recruiting, talent management and lifelong learning.

In this meetup, we explore how Blockchain can transform the educational sector as well as the recruiting of talents.

In his impulse lecture, Antonio Senatore, Director and Deloitte’s global Blockchain CTO and lead of Deloitte’s EMEA Lab, will pick up on the question what Deloitte’s strategy is around ZKP and what Deloitte’s take is on the nightfall technology.

Related to this, Jacob Boersma, Senior Manager and Blockchain lead for Deloitte NL, will give a brief update on key results of the ZKProof conference held in Amsterdam. ZKProof is an open-industry academic initiative that is part of a global movement advocating for the standardization of advanced cryptography. ZKP standards will bring better security assurance and greater interoperability to data privacy products.

Our first speaker is Erica Piol from the Deloitte EMEA Blockchain Lab, Dublin. Erica is a manager in the Deloitte EMEA Blockchain lab where she is responsible for leading blockchain strategy design and solution projects and tonight will present the Deloitte Blockchain asset EduScrypt, an application for verifying, managing and sharing educational credentials, powered by Blockchain. EduScrypt is useful to educational institutions and businesses/organisations that operate in highly regulated industries as it reduces business risk and helps ensure regulatory compliance.

Our second speaker tonight is Prof. Dr. Jürgen Ernstberger, Chair of Financial Accounting and Dean of Academic Affairs at the Technical University of Munich. Jürgen has several research projects on the impact of blockchain and is advisor at the EdTech start-up Aptera. Aptera is headquartered in Munich and provides a credential wallet for storing a portfolio of certificates for skills, experiences or knowledge.
