“HER" The Muse of Jirapatt Aungsumalee's Emotional Nude Paintings

In ancient times, the sources of inspiration for artists to create were not only the beautiful natural landscapes but also the human body itself, which served as another significant muse for artists. Especially the naked female body, which has inspired countless artists from the past until today. The graceful curves and proportions of the female form have been meticulously captured in the works of many master artists throughout art history.

Many renowned artists had a "Muse" or "Goddess of Inspiration" who was their model, sparking their creativity to produce remarkable works. For instance, Andree Heuschling, the last model of Pierre-Auguste Renoir, the French artist who played a significant role in Impressionism, conveyed beautiful, soft, and openly revealed nude images of women amidst nature. Particularly, Andree Heuschling reawakened Renoir’s spirit and passion for life, inspiring him to continue painting.

Another example is María Cayetana de Silva, 13th Duchess of Alba, who was said to be the model for Francisco Goya's famous painting The Naked Maja (1797–1800). This painting was one of the first in Western art history to depict the model's "pubic hair" clearly and without any derogatory implications. The subject of the painting was a real person, which was contrary to the typical practice of depicting mythological goddesses or legendary women in nudes during that period. The model in Goya’s work poses naked, staring directly at the viewer with a bold, unapologetic gaze that scandalized audiences at the time.

Much like contemporary artist Jirapatt Angsumalee, also known as Sirae to his jazz-loving who is widely admired for his deep understanding and love of jazz music. Beyond music,
Jirapatt has a profound passion for visual art, both as an appreciator and as a creator.

In addition to his abstract painting works, Jirapatt is an expert at drawing portraits in various styles, particularly nude drawings, which capture the beauty of the female form with bold, expressive lines. At the same time, his work remains soft and delicate in its emotional impact. Along with his striking black-and-white drawings, Jirapatt also incorporates vivid colors into his paintings, adding a seductive, intense atmosphere to the series.

As for “HER”, the "Muse" or "Goddess of Inspiration" behind Jirapatt’s work, maybe, that remains a personal story of the artist himself, which he prefers to keep private.
