Lauren Coleman, who presented at our last Meetup, is looking for some feedback.
Please read below.
FCC, FTC, CTIA.... - it's an alphabet soup that digital entrepreneurs can really benefit from - or struggle against - but you've got to know how to play the game 'cause it can ultimately affect profitability.
New terrain, new policy. It's all being carved out now. But are your concerns and voices being heard in Washington to help to shape the future?
Maybe not. So I'm considering putting together an event around the affects of government policy - or lack of it in certain instances - and new media on start-ups/young companies. Details are TBD (target date is end of October), but the interactive conversation will touch on:
- Poll of concerns/experiences from audience members regarding laws/policy and profitability
- Pros and Cons - navigating government policy/regulations
- Opportunities within new off-shoots/strategic allies
- Examination of need for trade association
- Wish List/Next Steps
We'll have a guest speaker who can provide greater insight as well as a brief introductory presentation from JPMorgan Chase (sponsor) which will just briefly touch on new banking regulations and start-ups to give attendees a headz up for their businesses. (there will also be a raffle that night to win an item from Chase so it's always good to come out for a freebie)
I've set up a quick survey to gauge interest and shape the event:http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=FzqZeOp9obMVIkpT11cKfg_3d_3d

And so, follow technologist, ask not what your country can do for you...ok, ask!
