[6/6] Slab section of the Jaunam Ridge for absolute beginners(Mt. Kwanaksan)
Details
[Mountain to hiking] Mt. Kwanaksan
[Meeting date and time] June 6(SAT), 2026, 10:00 AM
[Meeting place] Outside Exit 4 of Nakseongdae Station(#227) on Line 2
Recently, there has been a lot of talk about Mount Kwanak being a place imbued with powerful spiritual energy, and a rumor has spread—especially among young people in their 20s and 30s—that if you make a wish there, it will come true. At the start, we’ll veer slightly off the standard Jaunam Ridge Course and climb a gentle slab section for about 15 minutes—a route that even beginners can easily manage. As we ascend, we’ll come across “Silent Rock,” and from there, we’ll follow the standard Jaunam Ridge Course. If anyone finds the climb even slightly challenging, we will provide ropes to ensure a comfortable ascent. As you proceed along the ridge, strangely shaped rocks such as “Rabbit Rock,” “Buddha’s Palm Rock,” and “Baseball Glove Rock” appear one after another. With so many highlights, the hike is sure to be enjoyable. Since this course is easy enough for beginners, any MGK member is welcome to join.
